Proposal for a New Integrated Earthquake Early Warning System

Towards a new earthquake disaster prevention system! It covers the technical limitations such as delays in emergency earthquake alerts.

We propose a "New Integrated Earthquake Early Warning System" that enables accurate alerts for all earthquakes through the linkage of a direct seismic detection device and emergency earthquake alerts. By linking with the seismic meter "Chokka-kun," which is equipped with a three-directional acceleration sensor, we can detect and report warning information for direct earthquakes and earthquakes within 30 km of the epicenter in less than one second. Real-time seismic intensity is continuously recorded (every 100 ms) during shaking, allowing for the prediction of damage based on the duration of seismic intensity above a certain level. 【Features】 ■ Covers technical limitations such as delays in emergency earthquake alert notifications ■ Accurate information reporting through real-time seismic intensity ■ Prevention of false alarms ■ Evacuation guidance during shaking and at the end of shaking ■ Information presentation usable for damage estimation *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Case Study of the Emergency Earthquake Alert System: Midori Anzen Co., Ltd.

Emphasizing reliability! Operations are conducted under constant monitoring by the center, so there is no daily operational burden.

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the emergency earthquake alert system 'MJ@lert' at Midori Anzen Co., Ltd. and Midori Logistics Co., Ltd. In response to reports that emergency earthquake alerts would be made publicly available, the company made the management decision to implement the system, as it was absolutely necessary to avoid situations where employees at the logistics center could be harmed by falling cargo during an earthquake. During the consideration period, there were two significant earthquakes, but since the implementation, no major earthquakes have occurred, so we cannot currently cite any effects of the implementation. Nevertheless, we recognize that knowing there will be an alert before strong shaking occurs during a major earthquake provides a "psychological sense of security." 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - We want to avoid situations where employees in the logistics center could be harmed by falling high-altitude cargo during an earthquake. ■Results - Recognized psychological sense of security. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case Study of the Introduction of the Emergency Earthquake Alert System: National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience

No server needed! Case study of an emergency earthquake alert system that can be built using only receiving terminals.

We would like to introduce a case study of the implementation of the emergency earthquake alert system 'MJ@lert' at the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience. The emergency earthquake alerts utilize seismic observation data and real-time processing technology from the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience. As part of leveraging such research outcomes, an automatic linkage system with broadcasting equipment was established to ensure the safety of those working at the institute and visitors. As a result, despite experiencing a strong seismic motion of intensity 6- on the Japanese seismic scale, the institute was able to avoid human casualties. [Case Overview] ■Challenge - Implemented to ensure the safety of those working at the institute and visitors. ■Result - Despite being struck by a strong seismic motion of intensity 6-, human casualties were avoided. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

What's the difference between emergency earthquake alerts and mobile phones? [Currently offering know-how and case study materials]

Just by knowing the differences, the importance of earthquake preparedness becomes immediately clear.

Television and mobile phones provide services for general users (alerts). Our company's emergency earthquake notification service is a service for businesses (forecasts). Let me briefly explain the difference between alerts and forecasts. 【Alert】Our product 【Forecast】Television and mobile phones - Available for delivery from seismic intensity 3 or higher → Delivered from seismic intensity 5 lower - Provides area information pinpointed to the customer's address, including estimated seismic intensity and lead time → No estimated seismic intensity or lead time - Reliable delivery via a dedicated line → May not be deliverable depending on the local radio environment If you would like to know more about our products, please feel free to contact us.

[Ai-SYSTEM Implementation Results] Aichi Institute of Technology (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture)

Development of technologies to enhance regional disaster prevention capabilities through the utilization of earthquake information and the establishment of disaster prevention bases! Here is an introduction to our implementation results.

This is an introduction to the implementation of the "Ai-SYSTEM" at Aichi Institute of Technology (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture). It was introduced at the Yakusa campus in September 2004 under the earthquake disaster prevention consortium project "Development of Technology to Improve Regional Disaster Prevention Capabilities through the Utilization of Earthquake Information and the Formation of Disaster Prevention Bases." Later, it was expanded and operated at the Motoyama campus, Jiyugaoka campus, and affiliated Meiden High School and Middle School, as well as the Information and Electronics Vocational School. After its implementation, every year during the new student orientation, explanations are provided regarding the mindset during emergency earthquake alerts, the school's response, evacuation routes, and disaster supply stockpiles. Staff and students have become proactive in understanding the hazardous areas on campus. Since the evacuation drills using emergency earthquake alerts in 2012, they have participated in the "Aichi ShakeOut Drill." 【Implementation Results】 ■ Implementation Location: Aichi Institute of Technology (Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture) ■ Implemented Product: Ai-SYSTEM *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
